Happy Birthday!

Today is my brother's birthday! He is 25 years old today! We are 18 months a part.
Kevin is very tall and extremely athletic. In college was a star player on his lacrosse team. During his tenure he scored 49 goals.

Last weekend my best friend and I went to see a movie at Roosevelt Raceway Theatre. The movie was called Valentine's Day. The picture had a ton of my favorite actors and
actresses, such as Julie Roberts, Patrick Dempsey, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Gartner. The movie was a about a guy named Reed, that proposes to his girlfriend, Morley, on the morning of Valentine's Day. Morley agrees to marry him but refuses to wear the engagement ring he bought her. So excited and happy about his future with his new fiance, he tells his friends he's getting married and they are all shocked. They don't believe him when he tells them she said, "yes," because secretly they don't think they are a good couple.

The story is funny, romantic and has an outstanding cast! If you want to find out how it ends...you'll just have to see it in the theatre or wait until it comes out on DVD!

What's for breakfast?


Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. However, one of four students in America skip it. Why is that? Most people claim they simply don't have enough time in the morning to make a nutritious meal, let along eat one. What is considered a suitable breakfast? Cereal with fresh strawberries and blueberries, along with a glass of milk are a great breakfast! Each count as at least 1 serving size of grains, fruit and milk- three essential ingredients of a balanced diet. It is important to start of each morning with a healthy meal because it jump starts your body for the day. It allows you to focus on school work and gives you enough energy to play with your friends at recess. Also, eating breakfast as a children helps to create excellent eating habits that will carry on throughout your entire life.

Why do we celebrate Presidents' Day?


Yesterday, the Unites States celebrated the Federal holiday called Presidents' Day. The holiday, created in 1880, almost 100 years after his presidency, by the United States Congress, was created to honor the first President of the United States, George Washington. The holiday was called Washington's Birthday and was appropriately celebrated on Washington's real birthday, February 22nd. It wasn't until 1971, when Congress decided to move this national holiday to its present day, which is the third Monday of February.Washington's Birthday falls just ten days after another famous President's birthday. A man who was pivotal in the abolishment of slavery-President Abraham Lincoln. Abe Lincoln ,the 16th President of the United States, was born on February 12, 1809. Although Lincoln's birthday is not considered a national holiday, some states in the US have declared his birthday a state holiday. In the mid-90's, New York state decided to give their students the entire week off to celebrate both Lincoln and Washington's birthday.
