Long Island

I've lived on Long Island for 27 years. It's a great place to live because it's safe and there are lots of things to do.

Long Island is surrounded by water. On the southshore is the Atlantic Ocean and on the northshore is the Long Island Sound. The waves on the southshore can be very rough, whereas on the north-shore, the waves are calm and tranquil.

In addition to several beaches, there are lots of national, state, and town parks to visit. My favorite is Teddy Roosevelt's, our 21st President of the United States, house. His house is now a national park. On the property you are permitted to walk around the grounds, down to the sound, and even through his house! His house is definitely the coolest part! It looks exactly like Teddy left it. There are animal heads, tusks, and other cool items throughout the house. Teddy was a famous hunter, so that explains the way it was decorated.

Long Island has a lot to offer!
